Westlake is a boutique advisory firm in California serving select high net worth individuals, small businesses and entrepreneurs, and multi-generational families. They specialize in investment management and offer guidance for their clients’ entire financial picture, acting as trusted financial advocates for individuals with substantial wealth. This firm is comprised of three separate advisors, each working independently under the Westlake umbrella.
Goals
When Westlake approached us, they had a basic website that provided a ton of information about their firm and services. The team wanted to rebrand themselves as a boutique agency and give prospects a taste of Westlake as a whole without diving too deep into the firm’s multiple branches and services. Rather than overexplaining about each advisor and their specialties, they needed their website to give prospects a high-level overview of Westlake the brand—who they were, what they stood for, and what set them apart from other agencies. With their affluent clientele, Westlake needed a sleek design that allowed busy users to navigate their website quickly and thoroughly. We wanted to create a website that offered everything a new prospect would want to see, all in one place. We also needed to ensure we included enough of Westlake’s valuable content, but in a way that made it appear minimal. They needed to provide necessary information in an organized way, should prospects and clients want to dig a little deeper.
Westlake writes quarterly Insight articles for its clients, and the firm also needed a place for those articles to reside in a well-organized and appealing fashion. The Westlake team also liked the idea of using quotes to help illustrate their wealth management philosophies.

The infinite scroll function on Westlake’s site serves two complementary purposes: it allows the firm to highlight the most important aspects of the brand on one page, making it simple for busy users to browse quickly—with this design, a prospect can easily get a high-level overview of Westlake and contact them without clicking through multiple pages. Rather than limiting the website to one page entirely, we created a hybrid-infinite scroll site—prospects and clients can gather pertinent information by browsing just the homepage, but they can also click to interior pages if they want to learn more. Interior pages were also designed with an infinite scroll, so their subsections can be accessed simply by scrolling.
Creating an Insight blog on the website allowed Westlake to organize all of their past articles in one place and regularly add content to their website. Not only does this regular addition of new content benefit the firm’s search engine optimization, but they now have one place to send clients and prospects with whom they want to share their quarterly Insight articles.
